KIX Originals are campaigns that are conceived, organized, shot, edited and released by WE ARE KIX.
THE WAVE (2023)
YES 5G asked WE ARE KIX to highlight their coverage and speed as Malaysia’s fastest 5G network. Collaborating with Brand New Waves Running Club, KIX flooded the streets with neon waves of speed! The result was four highly attended running events, as well as a campaign film and engaging content for YES 5G’s social media platforms.
HONG LEONG: CAN YOU WALK ON WATER? (2014)
We are KIX created an original event and video concept for MACH by Hong Leong Bank’s young audience. Filling a pool in a public area with 8,000 liters of “Oobleck” (cornstarch, water and coloring) and having over 500 people run, jump, flip and bike on top of the substance. The Oobleck is a non-newtonian substance that reacts to pressure and becomes solid for only an instant when you step on it, then quickly becomes water again.
The event and video have become the most successful online campaign in Malaysian history.
– Over 75+ million views on YouTube
– Featured on BuzzFeed, Design taxi, Huffington Post, etc.
– Profiled on four separate Discovery Channel programmes worldwide
AirAsia: Adventure Live
KIX created a first-of-its-kind LIVE travel gameshow for AirAsia. The audience would watch as the team and a host explored the streets of a city, experiencing local food, music and culture. Throughout the six-week journey all over South East Asia, the audience could vote on where the team went and what they did, COMPLETELY LIVE.
This fresh campaign, filmed in Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos, was the recipient of multiple awards including:
– International Travel & Tourism Awards (2018) - Silver Award in the following categories: BEST DIGITAL CAMPAIGN IN TOURISM
– Mob-Ex Awards (2018) - Best Campaign in the following categories: VIRAL MARKETING; ORIGINAL CONTENT; INNOVATION; and VIDEO/RICH MEDIA.
FOX: THE WALKING DEAD (VIRTUAL REALITY)
For Season 9 of The Walking Dead, KIX teamed up with FOX Asia to deliver a VR experience in the back of active GRAB and UBER rides. People would order a car through the app as usual, and if one arrived with a "Riding Dead" sticker on the side, they would be able to experience the 2 minute Walking Dead VR experience on the spot.
HONG LEONG: THE TELEPORT CAFÉ
KIX conceptualised and produced a virtual reality cafe event and campaign video for MACH by Hong Leong Bank's travel credit card.
As part of the event, Smell Boomboxes were crafted to carry scents from all over the world — aromas of sun-kissed suntan lotion (Brazil), sweet lavender (Paris), nostalgically nutty caramel (New York) and more! In just seconds, KIX teleported users to their favourite holiday destinations through location-specific scents and props.
HEINEKEN: THE SUITCASE 360 (VR)
For the Passport International Beerfest, we created a whole new style of shooting for this project. "Float motion" and POV style helped us really tell a story without making people. We learned so much about 360 shooting from the ground up while making this video.
